Tradie Participation Agreement
This agreement governs your participation as a tradesperson in the Tracehome marketplace. It adds to, and should be read with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By connecting your account or accepting bookings through Tracehome, you agree to it.
LAST UPDATED 23 SEPTEMBER 2026 · TRACE HOME PTY LTD · ABN 46 701 371 682
01Who this is for
This agreement is between you (the tradesperson or trade business) and Tracehome, operated by Trace Home Pty Ltd (ABN 46 701 371 682), a company based in Western Australia, Australia. It applies whether you connect your own account or are engaged through the marketplace.
02Eligibility
You confirm that you:
- are at least 18 and authorised to enter this agreement on behalf of your trade business;
- hold the licences, registrations, and qualifications required by law for the work you offer, and will keep them current;
- hold the insurances in section 10 and can provide a current certificate of currency when we ask; and
- will provide accurate information about your business, services, and pricing.
03You are an independent contractor
You are an independent business. Nothing in this agreement makes you an employee, agent, partner, or representative of Tracehome. You decide whether to accept or decline each job request. You set or confirm your own price for the work (subject to any variation process with the homeowner). You control how, when, and by whom the work is performed, including your tools, methods, subcontractors, and schedule, provided you meet your obligations to the homeowner and the law.
You are responsible for your own taxes, GST (if applicable), superannuation, licensing, work health and safety, insurance, tools, and staff. Tracehome provides a platform that introduces you to homeowners and facilitates payment; the contract for the trade work is between you and the homeowner. We do not guarantee any volume of work.
04Connecting your account
You may connect your job-management account (for example ServiceM8) to Tracehome. When you do, you authorise us to access the information covered by the permissions you grant, so we can surface job records to the relevant homeowner and operate the marketplace. You can disconnect at any time. You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you share and confirm you have the right to share them.
05Job records, photos, and documents
You keep ownership of photos, documents, and other materials you create or upload in connection with a job. You grant Tracehome a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, display, and share those materials with the relevant homeowner (and anyone they authorise) on their property timeline and related Tracehome features, and to make reasonable backups.
You confirm you have the right to grant this licence (including where materials show third-party products or people), and that sharing them with the homeowner does not breach confidentiality or privacy obligations you owe others. The licence continues for as long as the homeowner’s property record is retained under our Privacy Policy, even if you disconnect, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
The fact of a job, its date and your business name form part of the home’s record and may be shown to a later occupant the homeowner passes that record to. Your price, your contact details and your job-system identifiers are shown only to the homeowner who booked you.
06Jobs and bookings
When a homeowner requests work, we may notify you of a matched opportunity. Matching and notification are marketplace features only — they are not an instruction to start work and do not create employment. You decide whether to accept. If you accept, you contract directly with the homeowner to perform the work. You are responsible for your quotes, confirmed pricing, scope, scheduling, and clear communication with the homeowner. Tracehome does not set your prices or guarantee you any volume of work.
07Repeat business and non-circumvention
Tracehome earns its platform fee by introducing you to homeowners. If we introduce you to a homeowner — meaning your first contact or first job with that homeowner or their property came through Tracehome — then for 12 months after your most recent completed booking with them through Tracehome, any further paid work you agree to do for that homeowner or at that property must either:
- be booked and paid through Tracehome in the usual way; or
- be reported to us within 14 days of agreeing the work, in which case you must pay us the platform fee in section 08 on the job total, and we may invoice you or offset it against future payouts.
This clause does not apply to homeowners you can show you had a genuine business relationship with before we introduced you (for example, a prior job in your own records), and it does not restrict the homeowner — they are free to contact and engage you however they choose; the obligation in this clause is yours alone. It is not a restraint on you working for anyone: you may always do the work, and the only consequence is the fee that would have applied anyway.
If you repeatedly take introduced work off-platform without reporting it, we may recover unpaid fees as a debt, offset them against payouts, and suspend or remove your access under section 14. This clause survives the end of this agreement for the remainder of any running 12-month window.
08Payments, platform fee, and Stripe Connect
Where a booking is paid through Tracehome, payment is processed by Stripe. The homeowner saves a card when they book and is charged once, after you mark the job complete, for the confirmed job total, as set out in our Booking Terms. That payment goes directly to your connected Stripe account. Tracehome does not hold the homeowner’s funds, or yours, at any stage, and is not your bank or trustee.
To receive payouts you must complete Stripe Connect onboarding and accept Stripe’s terms. Payouts are made to your connected Stripe account subject to Stripe’s rules, holds, and disputes.
Tracehome charges a marketplace platform fee of 8% of the confirmed job total (inclusive of any GST) (or another rate we show you in writing or in-product before you accept the booking). The fee is collected through Stripe as an application fee on the job payment, so what reaches you is the confirmed total less our fee. Stripe’s processing fees may also apply as Stripe discloses. You are responsible for tax invoices and your own tax obligations.
If a payment is refunded, charged back, or reversed after you have been paid, you must repay the relevant amount (including any platform fee we reasonably cannot recover) on request, and we may offset future payouts.
Refunds and disputes on your work. If a payment for a job you completed is refunded, in full or in part, or the homeowner wins a card dispute over it, that amount is reversed from your Stripe balance and we refund you the platform fee in the same proportion. If your balance does not cover the reversal, the shortfall is recovered under the repayment and offset terms above. Before we refund completed work we hear your side, unless the law requires the refund or the payment was charged in error (a duplicate charge, or a charge on a booking already cancelled); we refund those errors automatically at our cost. A card dispute pauses your payout for that job until it is resolved.
09Your standards and obligations
You agree to:
- perform work with due care and skill and to a professional standard;
- comply with all applicable laws, including licensing, building, and work-health-and-safety laws;
- honour any warranties or workmanship guarantees you offer;
- give homeowners accurate, non-misleading information; and
- respond to homeowners and to us within a reasonable time.
10Insurance
Before you accept any paid booking through Tracehome, and at all times while you remain eligible for bookings, you must hold and maintain (at your cost):
- public liability insurance with a limit of at least $5 million per claim (or a higher amount if required by law or by the type of work you offer);
- professional indemnity insurance where that cover is usual or required for your trade, with a limit of at least $1 million per claim (or higher if required by law);
- workers’ compensation insurance for any workers you engage, as required by the law of the state or territory where the work is performed; and
- any other insurance required by law for the work you offer.
You must upload a current certificate of currency (or equivalent evidence we reasonably accept) within 30 days of joining the roster (we will remind you), and again whenever cover renews or we reasonably request it. We may suspend booking eligibility if evidence is missing, expired, or inadequate. Providing evidence does not mean we have verified your cover or that we insure your work.
11Homeowner data and privacy
You may receive personal information about homeowners (such as names, addresses, contact details, and job details), including via connected systems such as ServiceM8. You must handle that information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent they apply to you, and in line with our Privacy Policy.
Use homeowner information only to quote for, perform, and follow up the relevant job; keep it secure; do not sell it; do not use it for unrelated marketing; and do not retain it longer than needed for the job, your legal obligations, or the homeowner’s ongoing property record on Tracehome. If you become aware of a data breach affecting homeowner information obtained through Tracehome, notify us promptly at hello@tracehome.com.au.
12Consumer guarantees
The services you provide to homeowners come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Nothing in this agreement reduces a homeowner’s rights against you, or your obligations to them, under that law.
13Things you must not do
- provide false, misleading, or deceptive information;
- misuse homeowner information or the platform;
- act unlawfully or unsafely, or in a way that damages homeowners or Tracehome; or
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.
14Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove your access — including in response to breach, complaints, safety concerns, or legal requirements — and will act reasonably in doing so. You may stop participating and disconnect at any time.
15Liability and indemnity
You are responsible for your work, your business, your staff and subcontractors, and your dealings with homeowners. To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify Tracehome and our personnel against claims, loss, damage, and reasonable costs (including legal costs) arising out of or in connection with: your work or advice; your breach of this agreement or the law; your negligence or wilful misconduct; your misuse of homeowner information; or any claim that materials you supply infringe someone else’s rights — except to the extent the claim is caused by our negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of this agreement.
To the extent permitted by law, Tracehome is not liable to you for lost profits, loss of work, or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you under this agreement is limited as set out in our Terms of Service. Nothing in this agreement excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16Term, changes, and contact
Either of us may end your participation at any time; obligations that by their nature should survive (such as those on data, liability, and indemnity) continue. We may update this agreement and will update the “last updated” date above; continued participation means you accept the update. This agreement is governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Questions? Email hello@tracehome.com.au.
